2007 Angel Award Winner!

This weekend, “Self-Medicated” won the 2007 Angel Award for the Motion Picture category - the film’s 39th award.  The Angel Awards are presented for excellence in film and television and dedicated to the promotion of quality, family orientated programming.  The other film winners were “An Inconvenient Truth” for Best Documentary, Disney’s “Cars” for Best Animation, and “Night at the Museum” for Best Family Film.

Top Prize in Australia!

Self-Medicated won the top prize at the Australian International Film Festival! Diane Venora also won for Best Actress. The winners were selected by the Australian Film Critics Association from more than 240 films from around the world. The two awards marked Self-Medicated’s 37th and 38th awards. Self-Medicated has now won more film festival awards than any other film this year!

Grand Jury Prize in Rome!

The Rome Independent Film Festival awarded Self-Medicated its Grand Jury Prize for the best feature film in competition, the highest honor given at the festival, along with a $30,000 production package sponsored by Proxima and Forum Village Studios! This year’s festival featured a host of internationally renowned and award-winning films from over 70 countries. What an unbelievable experience for Self-Medicated’s European Premiere! Thank you so very much to Fabrizio Ferrari, the festival jury, and the wonderful city of Rome!

PRISM Award Winner!

Self-Medicated is the Winner of the PRISM Award!

The awards were presented for the best accurate portrayal of drug and alcohol abuse in film and television. Self-Medicated was nominated alongside very auspicious company including, “Keane” produced by Steven Soderbergh, and “10th and Wolf” written and directed by Robert Moresco, the Oscar winning writer of “Crash.” It was an honor just to be included with the likes of such amazing filmmakers! Thank you so much!

Top Prize in Berkeley!

This weekend Self-Medicated won the very prestigous Grand Festival Award at the Berkeley Film Festival, the highest honor given at Northern California’s largest independent film festival. Thank you so much, it was an honor to take part!

Two Awards in Phoenix!

Self-Medicated was a double winner at the Phoenix Film Festival’s prestigious Copper Wing Awards! The film won the coveted Sundance Channel Audience Award, given to the film with the highest rating as voted by the festival audiences. The film also won a second award for Best Ensemble Acting. We’ve been incredibly blessed… amazingly, the film has now won awards at 17 festivals in a row! Thank you so much to Chris, Jason, Greg, the entire festival staff and especially to the wonderful audiences who came to see the film!

Top Prize in Hawaii!

Self-Medicated was a double winner at the Big Island Film Festival in beautiful Hawaii. The film won for Best Feature Film, the festival’s top prize as selected by the jury.
